The platform was amazing and very easy to get set up and use. I'm new to hunting and there wasn't a very big learning curve getting it to work properly. Build quality is bar none.
I like it fine, climbed a 20 inch pine in my yard up to about 24 ft, hadnt hunted cause its too hot. I was thinking I would take the center pole out. I traded the slide strap out for a helium ratchet. Im pretty sure I can use a bungee cord on your carbon fiber strap or go down to platform and put ratchet strap on there. I still think its a good idea to tie a string from platform maybe to my waist as I go up as to not lose my platform and let it walk down the tree. Its real sturdy without tying the center pole lock pole in. My question for you is why dont your click pins go completely through past carbon fiber strap? I also wonder how many years of service will I get out of a 60 inch wrap around carbon strap? I did contact Summit to design a foot climber but they were too stupid to take me on my offer but their cable around the tree system is better than your carbon strap and will never fail. Im a welder and machinist so I will be getting a patent on the foot climber I make. You have a excellent product except for the strap even though I know a sliding cable would be heavier. Your competition did use a cable on theirs but your platform smokes theirs. I didnt wanna carry this on my back Im using something like a rifle strap and carrying it off my left shoulder and my bow in my right hand and small backpack on my back with tether 40 ft rope and saw and saddle madrock safeguard and carabiners in there so im not over 10 lbs with my bow and can walk a mile pretty easy plus im 63 yrs old and need all the help I can get! Have a blessed day!
Great platform, and concept but would make it better is to have a handle that worked similar to a climber but small and light weight to pull ur Self up with a little off the tree instead of to the tree
Can't wait to use this.
This is one of the best things I have bought for hunting with a saddle. The quick climb is very easy to use and really comfortable once it is set up. I was concerned about packibility since it doesn't fold flat, but it has not been a problem. It straps right on to my mystery ranch pack and I really appreciate how simple it is to get on the tree. When combined with a rappel system, it is by far the best climbing method and platform that I have used.
